City Tour details

Information for out-of-town guests who signed up for the city tour with Doug Kline:

Your private tour of Twin Cities highlights and attractions is set for this Saturday morning at 9 am. Your experience will include a fun, lunch-on-us at our fave rotisserie joint near our home. (You'll learn lunch details as the tour completes and menus are distributed. If lunch isn't for you, you can be dropped at your hotel or desired location at about 12:30 pm.)

Just prior to 9 am, meet outside on the sidewalk at the main entrance to the Guthrie Theater, 818 S. 2nd St., Minneapolis, MN 55415. (The Guthrie is just steps from our home at the Humboldt Lofts.) Your experience will also end back at the Guthrie at about 1 pm.

Note that the Guthrie entry is covered and will be the tour starting point rain or shine. The building will not be open and their restrooms will not be available before the tour. Restrooms are available in the nearby Mill City Museum. A couple of the stops during the tour will also have restrooms available. Bottles of water will be available in the van during the tour.

Before the tour, consider exploring the popular Mill City Farmers Market that occurs Saturday mornings next to the Guthrie (opens 8 am). This is the most popular market in the city and features scores of vendors selling prepared food (including a breakfast food truck), coffee and beverages, pastries, vegetables, herbs, jams, cheese, honey, flowers, breads, books, bags, body care and more. The market closes at 1 pm.

Because of the busy farmers market, expect lots of people, dogs, bikes and cars in the area as you navigate to the Guthrie to meet for the tour. Dress for the weather and enjoy your adventure!
